I have recently made it a priority to focus on my health. A big portion of how I’m taking care of myself is paying attention to what I’m putting in my body, so grocery shopping has become a very important weekly task.
My health goals include eating more all natural foods and paying attention to added ingredients. Now don’t get me wrong I definitely have my cheat meals but for the majority but I would say 90% of the meals that I eat, I cook myself. I personally love cooking so that has an added benefit for me but recently I have been paying more attention to the ingredients that I’m using. For instance, I find it’s not worth it for me to spend hour or two and hours making a dish at home just to look at the ingredients I’m using and see that there are 10 added ingredients that are going to inflame my gut and not be good for me. So I’m making it a point to eat more Whole Foods.
To make grocery shopping an enjoyable experience I like to write out my grocery list every single week. I will come up with three or four dinner options, 2 lunch options and 2 breakfast options for me to have every week. I will get ingredients to fit those meals plus my weekly staples. This helps me with over spending and making sure that I do not waste food. This also helps me plan out my meals for the week so that I can be better prepared and don’t ever feel like I don’t know what to make.
Grocery shopping can be an enjoyable experience if you prep for it.
